Local Seattle Festivals

There are usually quite a few fun things to do during the Summer.  Here is a list of festivals, both educational and just plain fun!

Bellingham Festival
A world class event.  Truly, if you want to hear some of the nations best musicians, then this is the place.
2012--July 6th through July 21st

Max Aronoff Viola Institute Festival
A great educational experience for violists 14 years of age and older.  Lots of great classes, chamber music study, master classes and concerts (which are wonderful and open to the public... and we'd love to have your support!)  There is usually a large group of grade school students who attend, but also a fair amount of adult community musicians as well.
2012--June 22nd through June 24th

Midsummer Musical Retreat
2012--July 30th through August 5th
A “MUSIC CAMP FOR GROWN-UPS”
MMR provides a non-competitive but challenging curriculum for adult singers and instrumentalists. The week-long festival workshop includes orchestra, band, string orchestra, chorus, jazz big band, chamber ensembles and electives in an hospitable, “Retreat” atmosphere.

Northwest Mahler Festival
The festivals mission statement, "
  • To create an opportunity for orchestral instrumentalists and chorus members in the Northwest to experience first-hand the larger, more difficult orchestral pieces, through readings, performances, workshops, seminars, master classes and other informative means;
  • To encourage and facilitate relationships between the Northwest's community, student and professional orchestras and choruses, their organizations and memberships, and the community at large;
  • To provide an enjoyable and enriching musical experience for all participants."
